IMPACT (Interfaith Movement Promoting Action by Congregations Together) will hold its annual Nehemiah Action on Tuesday, April 8 from 6:30pm-8pm at the Martin Luther King, Jr., Performing Arts Center adjacent to Charlottesville High School. All parishioners are invited to be part of the over 1,000 people who make up the largest annual public gathering in Charlottesville to ask our local officials for the following solutions to social justice problems in our community: (1) establishment of a fully funded
Affordable Housing Trust Fund in Albemarle County, like the ones operating in Charlottesville and 800 other communities throughout the United States; (2) funding for the 80 bus drivers needed to get wait times on all Charlottesville Area Transit bus routes down to 30 minutes; and (3) full reopening of the Women’s Drug Treatment Center.
