Thirty-two years ago Pope Saint John Paul II established February 11th as World Day of the Sick to encourage the people of God, Catholic health institutions, and civil society to become more attentive to the sick and those who care for them. It is no accident that World Day of Sick is also the Feast Day of Our Lady of Lourdes. This powerful devotion encourages us to pray for those around us who are sick and possibly homebound and are in need of our prayers at all times and especially near the feast day.
Holy Comforter’s Works of Mercy Ministry invites all parishioners to pray together a powerful healing novena to Our Lady of Lourdes. Let us start by asking Our Lady to intercede on behalf of the parish’s sick and homebound and our private intentions. The Novena always begins February 2 and ends on the feast day of Our Lady of Lourdes, February 11.
If you would like to pray with us, you can find the novena below.
Thank you for your precious prayers on behalf of Holy Comforter’s sick and homebound and others in need!
